I'd have tagged him, got someone in guild to join group and tag him as well while you logged on your rogue to come get it.

Blizz officially hates me now...

Guess what I found today on my lock? The one level 85 toon I care the least about?

The time(fucking)-lost protodrake...

And I've never seen that guy dead/tagged/alive before.
