ZA and ZG... as if I didn't bash my head against those enough already.

What next? Molten Core as a 5 man? AQ40 as a five man, with AQ20 just as a quest zone?

I can see it now. Patch 4.2 We revert all your characters to lvl 60, and start the last three expansions over again for another 5 year cycle until Titan (whatever it is) is ready to ship.

Killt, Fire is really the only viable spec. I'm pretty low on the meters with frost still. The only reason I still play it is because I don't have fun playing fire. Dots are boring and I enjoy direct damage, big crits etc.

Arcane may be viable in the next tier, but for now it's just too mana intensive, especially on the longer fights. I'd start off doing 24k dps and slowly peter down to

I'd have to agree with Brianore when he says you're a minority and only enjoying it because you had a 2 year break. The rest of us have been doing this for 2 years straight or even longer. For most of Wrath, I only logged on for raids. When new content came out, I'd do the dailies associated with it until I was done, then go back to logging on only for raids 3 days a week. Eventually I trained Ander to be raid leader so I could skip farm night and just log on for progression nights 2 days a week.

It's the same old shit except this time around, it's recycled content instead of original stuff, so when it was hard to log on before, it's even harder now.

I actually quite liked the tournament dailies not because I liked doing the same shit over and over, but because they had something cool at the end of each faction - mounts and pets. Particularly the argent squire who can go to the bank and mailbox for you and the tabard that teleports you to the tournament grounds. Now those are USEFUL and pay off for doing all those boring dailies. Most reps don't have anything but useless gear that gets replaced quickly. That was a big time sink but you actually got rewarded.

Yea I'll agree with that Atelo, the argent tournament dailies were the only dailies I didn't really dislike. Those were actually slightly more fun than most of the others and like you said they had genuinely useful rewards for all of your time invested. Idk, I could log on for 3-4 hours a night 3 nights a week every week for 6 years I feel like and not be too too burned out. As long as I am raiding with like minded like skilled individuals so my raiding experience is light and relaxing and fun. Then yea, raiding becomes incredibly fun and rewarding, and honestly rather easy to log on for.

I agree I'd like more new bosses and stuff...and the zg/za shit is pretty fucking lazy, no other way to say it. That's why I'm THANKING GOD they made those things 5 mans. So it's a recycle but it's almost more than a recycle so like you said, all the true casuals who never raided and got to see za or zg will get to see it. And then the true raiders who saw all that shit before don't *have* to go back there again. Firelands is going to be extremely important for the long term health of this game I"d say. They are going to need to do well with that zone. It's supposed to be kind of an outdoor type zone along the lines of mt. hyjal but hopefully not with all the fail waves of trash? So we'll see. I have kinda high hopes for it. But I've learned not to get too overly excited. If they only end up re-using rag and his fight is a bunch different though and the rest of the zone if fun and original new encounters I think they'll end up coming out ok.

The class changes are obviously still very much in the initial stage and will be changed before they go live. Or at least I'm really really hoping this is the case.

Edit: To Xion..yea I may of just picked the wrong class or something. It seems like it's going to be a longgg arching game. Like as of right now the entire point of the game is just leveling up...again as far as I can tell...idk it could be fun. I'm sure they will have more stuff going on in the live than they did in the beta..who knows, we'll see I guess. I'll be curious to hear how you feel about it in like a week or two

Edit Edit: Brianore's assessment of where Blizzard is at in respect to their intent and amount of effort put into this game at this point in time was scarily accurate haha. Like...dead on accurate. Pretty clear who in this thread runs their own business lol. But yea...I don't know..hence the end of my first post. Just keep raiding 3 times a week and farming the odd day when I'm bored out of my mind until Diablo 3 comes out and fun returns to the world of computer games, at least for me.

Who knows, at this this rate I might cave in a month and pick up Rift haha, based on how Xion's final review sounds of course.

Last thing before I go take my gf and her baby cousin to the zoo for the day lol.

Bees all the shit you just listed is the problem I have with this game now though. Ever since they introduced achievs I feel like bliz just decided it was much easier to keep everyone around by giving them more random mounts and pets and shit to farm. That's awesome for all the people who play this game for or are obsessed with mounts or pets or achievement points or w/e. I however sadly used to play this game to *kill things*, for the combat. Either with the mobs or with other players, or with a bunch of my friends in some crazy challenging, original, and interesting raid zone fighting some epic monster for some epic loots.

All of that sense of challenging and engaging combat has left this game. It left it long ago when they started making all the individual aspects of this game easier or just more mindless. I only get that sense of validation/accomplishment/reward in this game exclusively while raiding now. I have faith they will manage to not fuck up at least that whole process entirely until they do their next major game release. Till then we are stuck with either a game that is nothing more than a shadow of it's former self, or a slew of largely unimpressive wannabe's and cheap knock-offs.

God I'm happy :D

I see ZA/ZG as what the last 5mans in ICC were (FoS, PoS, HoR). People all through wrath tried to treat them the same as the original 5-mans. And when they did we wiped... a lot.

They're a 5-man way to get gear ready to start the next tier of raiding.

ps. I meant the small changes to rogues... looks like some talents are getting less focused (initial ability buffed but talents to improve that nerfed) and stealth might not be such a slowing thing to use now.
And gone.

I don't get it

not three months ago they had the stones to tear giant holes through the content that all of us knew, clearly setting up for a multi-year multi-patch track to deathwing, and completely redid huge chunks of the 1-60 experience, and already folks are talking about recycling content and milking us poor old addicts without spending money or daring to do anything dramatic?

I agree it's good not having to do a recycled instance because it's 353 gear, though, unless there are shoulders and wands...

deadmines and SFK were recycled too - so what? they have completely new mechanics and are much more interesting than they used to be.

I vividly remember people angsting about Magmaw before we started raiding, how hard it was going to be because there was this one spell with a warning of only two seconds (zomg!) and everyone has to move or we all die (o noes11) we'll wipe for weeks. now people are bored?
