How good are paladin seal mana saving talents?

Post by Frendab »

I decided to post this in here as well as the paladin forums since a few people have asked about what talents to get on their paladin alts and I figured this would help enlighten you to make the choice you want.

Mana cost of SoC + judge with sanctified Judgement. (50% mana of cost of seal returned when judged)

(without benediction) 210 seal cost
75 Judgement cost
105 mana returned
total mana cost =(210+75)-105= 180 mana cost

(with benediction) 178.5 seal cost
63.75 Judgement cost
99.25 mana returned
total mana cost =(178.5+63.75)-99.25= 143 mana cost

With Libram of Hope which is -20 mana off mana cost of seals.

(without benediction) 190 seal cost
75 Judgement cost
95 mana returned
total mana cost =(210+75)-95= 190 mana cost

(with benediction) 161.5 seal cost
63.75 Judgement cost
90.75 mana returned
total mana cost =(161.5+63.75)-90.75= 134.5 mana cost

Difference of 55.5 mana per seal / Judge with the libram and 37 mana without. Multiplied out by how many times per fight you Judge SoC and it's a fairly significant amount of mana saved per fight.

Now how much does it cost you to not have Sanctified Judgement?

(without benediction) 210 seal cost
75 Judgement cost
0 mana returned
total mana cost =(210+75)= 285 mana cost

(with benediction) 178.5 seal cost
63.75 Judgement cost
0 mana returned
total mana cost =(178.5+63.75)= 242.25 mana cost

With Libram of Hope once again.

(without benediction) 190 seal cost
75 Judgement cost
0 mana returned
total mana cost =(190+75)= 265 mana cost

(with benediction) 161.5 seal cost
63.75 Judgement cost
0 mana returned
total mana cost =(161.5+63.75)= 225.25 mana cost

The only difference between with and without the libram of hope is 17 mana with benediction and 20 without obviously. It would seem benediction is alot more benefitial if you don't have sanctified judgement as it saves you alot more mana. My personal choice I would get them both if you can though.

Considering how often you could be Judgeing with improved Judgement (reduces Judgement cooldown by 2 seconds making it go from 10 seconds to 8 seconds) depending on how often you want to judge this looks like a damn good investment.
There can be only one.
