if you arent going to be focussed on raiding, you dont need a ton of hit. Id suggest maybe 150-180ish.

For a sword/mace/fist build just keep taking agi/ap gear... for a dagger build (most likely mutilate) take crit as a lot of your combo point generation is based on crits.

Yeah you were right Fone I meant that 0 to be at the end and not at the beginning. Anyways as to the purpose of my rogue it's mostly to f*** around and have a good time with and to see how it is playing melee dps and all of that. Run some heroics, runs some 5 mans, just a marginal amount of pvp, enough to get the swords and thats about it. Maybe run some kara, and then when I actually get the rogues professions leveled up farm some herbs and ore. Ok so maybe with the build I had listed it go 4/5 vile poisons and 1/1 in relentless strikes. The weapon I choose to specialize in I guess will depend on what I get to drop for me while I am leveling up. Thanks. Oh also while I am leveling up, when I get random item with gem slots available what type of gems do I want to use while leveling, Agi, Crit, AP or Hit.

Off the subject of rogues for a min here. The past few weeks i have been changing my spec from Fury to MS for arena's. And to be 100% honest here... after being Fury and farmin all week long... MS BLOWS for PvE. that is all

I think you are meaning a 15/46/0 or */*/0 since none of us are sub spec. I could have also mis-placed the spec to be in the leveling spec and not the raiding spec. swords/fist/maces really do well for leveling up.
the reason that the 15/46/0 is that the fist/sword build is an actuall higher DPS spec than the sword/sword combo. you can also do a dagger/sword along the same lines but, I am not sure on the numbers if that would be able to put out more damage than a sword/sword spec. you can find the number crunching done in elistest jerks forums.
sprint, endurance, imp kick are all nice to have but, what is the purpose for building your rogue? to farm? pvp? for all out farming riposte is really nice to have so I would fanagle my points to have that while leveling up. relentless strikes is a must have almost in every build. vial poisons would be good too since you dont plan on letting your target live long.

OK OK .... i currently use a 17/44/0 build. REally good for PvE DPS but for BG's and Arena's not so good. You can still do very good dmg with this spec but you wont hit as hard as you would if you were MS. And because your looking for Burst dmg in BG's and Arena's MS is the way to go. Fury is more of a sustained amount of dmg. MS in PvE is ok but with it being all burst dmg when you have the rage for it you dont get a fluent <sp> amount of dmg. It is very jumpy with this spec. But like baio siad with the right gear and timming your slams you can do pretty well.

You can still do decent damage with an MS build in PvE but to be honest it's not the normal or recommended way to go. But with some decent gear, the use of Slam, and swing timers it can be done. If your ever online when Machi is on I would highly recommend speaking with him to see what it was he did, as he was always pretty uber. To be honest though the best dps spec for PvE is 17/44/00 which to be quite honest with you is horrid for PvP.

Anyways if all you are going to do is farm and pvp go with an MS build, you can grind on fools easily enough and you become a mini god in PvP.
