Wow. Totally missed the big drama. Looks like WoWpedia got the databases synchronized to Oct 18th, and anything since is community-(re)generated. For the time being, at least, they're being hosted by Curse, ad-free. Which is nice, but not a big change for me, as I've been browsing with AdBlock for quite a few years now, and didn't even remember that wowwiki was ad-supported...

They got the database out... basically the problem was that wikia (old host and who owns the wowwiki domain name) decided to force a template change on people (and it compresses the test to fit the new ads).

To try and change things the wowwiki people threatened to leave, and wikia didn't stop so they left.. was a bit before the tools to pull all the data actually worked.

btw, wowwiki is gonna die.. most people from there including all the admins went to wowpedia.org
