Tahiti is the largest island in the Windward group of French Polynesia, located in the archipelago of Society Islands in the southern Pacific Ocean.

The island had a population of 178,133 inhabitants according to the August 2007 census. This makes it the most populated island of French Polynesia, with 68.6% of the total population. The capital is Papeete, on the northwest coast.

They should be experiencing thunder storms periodically all week.

And how much will it cost me per night to stay in Tahiti considering I enjoy the humid climate there?

A flight tomorrow from San Francisco, staying for 1 week, will cost around $2k with either Quantas or Air Tahiti.

A week's hotel is going to set you back around $190 a night.
