Whats your budget? For a beginner I'd recommend the Nikon D90 (18 to 105 VR Lens) or equivalent Canon.

PS: Ro, where have you been? We need your l33t d33ps.

What kind of photography are you interested in?

And what's your budget?

Sounds like you want a polaroid camera Ro :p My hubby just got me the Canon Xsi for a retardly cheap price off amazon. So far I am loving it. It's not the newest model but it does take nice pics.

I've been looking at the Canon EOS Rebel T1i EF-S, though might be crazy for a first camera. I can play in the $800 range but probably should be in the $600 range.

As for my whereabouts, works been pretty damn busy, undermanned and overworked. But I guess for now better than not working.

Ro that is what I would have chosen if it were me picking. For less then $600 we were able to pick up the camera and 2 lenses. Atelo is a Nikon guy and Boryn is a Canon guy and both swear by both. If I remember correctly in the cheaper price ranges $500-$1500 Canon makes a better camera for your buck, but for the higher end Nikon wins out. Plus Boryn took my wedding pics so I was leaning towards that.
